Yesterday, Dan Bolinger invited us up to Iruma to have lunch and visit the church.  After a delicious meal (chili and cornbread!), we went over to Ai no Kyoukai church, where they are using one of the buildings for CC Iruma.  Don’t worry, the picture above isn’t the church, it’s the building next door that Dan is cleaning up.  It was great to see what God is doing in Iruma.  Thanks Dan and Mihoko-san!

昨日、ダン・ボリンジャーさんが僕らを入間市で昼ごはんを食べて、教会を訪れるのに誘ってくれました。本当においしい食事（チリとコンブレッド！）の後に、愛の教会に行きました。CC入間は愛の教会の一つのビルを使っているので。心配しないで、上の写真はCC入間の教会じゃなくて、ダンさん掃除している隣のビルですよ。神様が入間で行っていることを見て、本当に良かったです。ダンさんとみほこさん、ありがとう！

  Kayo and I were planning to go to CC West Tokyo on Sunday morning and CC Tokorozawa on Sunday evening, but as it turned out, they were having their annual joint service at Kukokoen Park that morning.  After the worship and teaching, we all ate our bentos together and then got a game of Volleyball going.  (I think West Tokyo won.  Santo-san was tearing up the field.)  It was great to see Rusty and Amber again.  If I remember right, their baby is due in December.  Congrats!

僕と香代は日曜日の朝カルバリーチャペル西東京の礼拝に行って、夜カルバリーチャペル所沢の礼拝に行く予定だったが、その教会二つともは空港公園で年刊の合同礼拝をやっていると教えてもらいました。賛美とメッセージの後に私たちは一緒に弁当を食べたり、バリーボールをやったりしました。（西東京は勝ったと思う。）ラスティーとアンバーも会って良かったです。ちゃんと覚えているなら、彼らは12月に赤ちゃんが生まれる予定です。おめでとう！

Sunday evening we went over to CC Fuchu to hang out with Rich and Candice and the gang.  Michael and Jiai met us at the train station and we all went over for a BBQ.  The church and the school is growing and it was great to find out that Aki is translating and Mariko is leading worship now. 

日曜日の夜、僕らはカルバリーチャペル府中に行って、リッチとキャンディスとみんなと時間を過ごしました。マイケルと慈愛は駅で僕らに会って、一緒にCC府中のBBQに行きました。府中の教会と学校は発育していて、アキが通訳して真理子ちゃんが賛美リードしていることを聞いて、うれしかったです。

Well, actually, greetings from Tokyo.  Our 3 week trip in America came to an end on Thursday, and now we are about to leave Tokyo and head back to Okinawa.  We had a great time in America.  God gave us time to spend with family and friends who I hadn’t seen in 3 years, and who Kayo had never met before.  Iowa, Missouri, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and even a short trip to Rock Falls, Illinois; the trip with packed but was a blessing because of all the people we were able to see.  I’ll try to post pictures from the trip soon.

実は、「東京からの挨拶」です。僕らの3週間のアメリカの旅行は木曜日に終わりにたどり着いて、今日は東京から離れて沖縄に帰る時が着きました。アメリカにいる時間はすばらしかった。神様は僕が3年間に会ったことなく、香代が一度も会ったことない家族と友達に会う時間を与えられました。アイオワ州、ミズーリ州、ニューハンプシャー州、マサチューセッツ州、またイリノイ州のロックファルズ町もの短い旅行をして、このアメリカの旅行は色んなスケジュールで詰まっていたが、いっぱい友達と家族に会えたから本当の祝福でした。旅行の写真をブログすることを早めに頑張ります。

Thank you all so much for all your prayer and support.  Kayo and my wedding was amazing, thanks to everyone there.  We could really feel that the place was filled with God’s love, not because of Kayo and me, but because of everyone who came to support us as one big family.  It’s been a few months, and Kayo and I are doing well.  We wanted to share some pictures with you from the wedding.  For those of you who are in the States, we hope to see you if, God willing, we are able to visit Iowa this summer.

皆さんの祈りとサポートを心から感謝いたします。皆さんのおかげで僕と香代の結婚式はすばらしかったです。皆さんが来て、一つの大きな家族としてサポートしてくれたので、その場所は神の愛で満たされていることを感じました。その時から2ヶ月がたって、そして僕らは元気です。結婚式の写真を分かち合いたいと思いますが、どうぞ見てください。

Kayo and I will be having our wedding ceremony in two weeks, on Feb. 20th, here in Okinawa.  The preparations are continuing and God has been providing in amazing ways.  Thanks for all your prayers.

僕と香代の結婚式は後2週間、2月20日に沖縄で行われます。準備は進んでいて、神様はすばらしい方法で僕らの必要を与えてくださっています。皆さんの祈りをありがとうございます。

This is Okutama, in the mountains near Tokyo.  We held the conference in a cabin on a camp ground near the river.  It was great to be back in the mountains and in cold weather again.  We had a very refreshing time at the conference.  Bill Stonebreaker and some other pastors from Hawai’i came and taught us out of the book of 1 Timothy.  It was a time of great teachings and fellowship.

これは東京の近くの山にある奥多摩です。川の近くのキャンプ場のキャビンで会議を行いました。また山の寒い天気の場所にいたことは良かったです。会議の時間はとてもリフレッシュできました。ハワイから来たビル・ストンブレーカ牧師とほかの牧師が第1テモテから教えました。すばらしい教えと交わりの時間が持っていました。

Last month, I had the opportunity to go up to Tokyo for a week to go to a pastor and leader conference in Okutama.  It was a great time.  Our first stop as we left the airport and drove to Machida was Yokohama. 

先月、僕は一週間の間、東京に行って、奥多摩で「牧師とリーダーのカンファレンス」に行く機会がありました。楽しかったです。空港を出て町田に行くとき、最初のストップは横浜でした。

If you’ve ever wondered to yourself, "Does God really want me to be here?", one of the things that pulls you out of doubting mode is seeing Him provide for your needs in ways you would never image.

Almost a month ago, God provide an apartment for me in Akamichi, Ginowan, right down the road from the church.  I had been looking around here and there, trying to find something affordable.  Since I’ll be getting married in February, finding an apartment was a big priority.  Well, during a time when I wasn’t even looking, God provided this apartment.  And not only the apartment, but everything inside the apartment as well.

「神様は本当に僕がここにいてほしい？」を自分の心で考えたことがあるなら、その疑いを止めさせることの中の一つは、神様のすばらしい与えを見ることです。

一ヶ月前ぐらい、神様が僕に教会に近く、宜野湾市赤道にあるアパートを与えられました。僕は手頃な家賃のアパートをたまに探していました。2月に結婚するので、アパートを見つけることは必要でした。僕は探していなかったとき、神様がこのアパートを与えてくださいました。でも、そのアパートだけじゃなくて、そのアパートの中のすべて物も与えてくださいました。

Friday

Dave, Nate and I met on Friday morning around 6:30 and headed off to the port.  We arrived at Tonaki Island at 10:45 and carried our goods to the ministry house.  We took the Bibles, some fans, a rice cooker and some cups and plates with us to prepare for later trips.  We were very thankful for the fans; it was hot and humid.  It was a pretty relaxing day, after we did some cleaning in the house.  For lunch we headed over to the terminal restaurant.  Dave had a new experience as he and I both opted for the goya champuru (bitter melon stir fry).  I’ve had goya here and there, but this was the best goya I’ve ever had.  I wish I had taken a picture, but I didn’t think about it until we had finished.  Later that night we made some beef itame (stir fry), relaxed and wandered around the village and beach.

金曜日の朝6時半くらいに、デーブとネートに会って、一緒に港まで行きました。朝10時45分に渡名喜島に着いて、荷物をミニストリーハウスに持って行きました。将来の伝道旅行のために、聖書、扇風機、炊飯器、そして、皿とコップを持っていきました。渡名喜島は本当に暑くて、じめじめだったので、その扇風機があったのを感謝していました。ちょっと家を掃除した後、リラックスの時間を過ごしました。昼ごはんの時に、ターミナルの食堂で食べました。デーブが新しい経験をしました。それは、デーブと僕はゴーヤーちゃんぷるにしました。僕はゴーヤーを食べたことがあるけど、そのゴーヤーちゃんぷるは僕の経験の中に一番おいしいゴーヤーでした。写真を撮ったらよかったけど、食べた後まで写真を撮ることを思わなかったのです。金曜日の晩、牛肉傷めを作って、リラックスしたり、村とビーチの周りを歩いたり、しました。

Saturday

Saturday morning was focused on prayer and alone time with God.  It was very refreshing.  We all got up early and got out of the house and went off in different directions outside of the town.

土曜日の朝のフォーカスは祈りと一人一人の神様との時間でした。本当にリフレッシュされていました。僕たちは朝早く起きて、家から出て、みんなは村の外に違う方向歩いていった。

Since it was the 4th of July, we had our own little fireworks party down at the beach.

アメリカの独立記念日だったので、ビーチの方で自分達の小さい花火のお祝いをしました。

Sunday

Sunday was a very exciting day.  Izuru-san asked us if we could do a church service on Sunday afternoon after he finished up work.  He’s never been to church or done communion.  We had brought some crackers and grape juice for communion, so we were pretty excited.  So all 4 of us got together Sunday afternoon and we made up a spaghetti meal and all ate together.  After that we had a time of singing worship songs and then a message.  Then we finished up with communion.  It was a great time.  We’re praying about going over and having a regular Sunday service once a month so that we could let the people on the island know and invite them to come regularly.

日曜日はとても面白かった一日でした。いずるさんが日曜日の昼に教会の礼拝を行うように聞いたんです。彼は教会に行ったり、正餐式をしたり、する経験がありません。渡名喜島に行く前に僕たちはクラッカーとグレープジュースを買って、持って行ったから、興奮していました。日曜日の昼にみんなの4人が集めて、スパゲティの昼ごはんを作って、一緒に食べました。その後、賛美の時間をして、メッセージも行いました。最後に正餐式を行いました。素晴らしい時間でした。渡名喜村の人たちを定期的に誘いたいので、毎月一回に渡名喜村で日曜日の礼拝を行うように祈っています。

A while ago, God provided for us to get some Bibles for the ministry on Tonaki Island.  Yesterday, I was able to get to the Christian book store and pick these up.  We try to do a children’s outreach everytime we take a big group over to Tonaki, so it’s exciting that we were able to get ahold of two children’s Bibles.  Bible Japanese is very hard, but those children’s Bibles present the Bible in easy to understand Japanese.  There has been some fruit from the outreaches out there, so we’re praying that Bible will go to good use.

最近、神様が渡名喜島の伝道のために聖書を与えました。昨日、僕はクリスチャン本屋に行って、持って戻ったことができました。毎回大きなグループとを渡名喜島につれて行くとき、子供の伝道をするようにするので、この2冊の子供の聖書が得られて良かったです。聖書の日本語は難しいけど、その子供の聖書が簡単な日本語を使います。その伝道の時から、霊的な実が結ばれているから、この聖書がよく使えられるように祈っています。

I’m heading out on Friday morning with a couple guys to go out to Tonaki.  We’ll be there until Monday afternoon.  I’ll be working a bit more on cleaning the new ministry house that God provided for us there.  We’ll also be meeting up with Izuru-san, and also taking some time to be refreshed.  We’ll have no internet and no cell phones, away from tall buildings; a perfect time to read and pray.

今週の金曜日の朝に、2人の男性と一緒に渡名喜島に行く予定です。月曜日の昼に帰ってきます。僕は神様が与えられたミニストリー・ハウスをちょっと掃除し続けます。そして、イズルさんと会って、リフレッシュされる時間を過ごします。渡名喜には、インターネットがないし、ケイタイもできないし、街の高いビルから遠く離れるので、完全な聖書を読んだり、祈ったりする時間だろうと思います。
